Overview
For a US military contractor, failure to maintain compliance training could result in loss of multi-million dollar contracts and significant fines.
Challenges
A global aerospace & defense company’s delivery process and timelines of employee training was inefficient and slow. As a military contractor, they are required to conduct specific
compliance and skills training. Optimizing the training process was critical to operations.
The training team had limited accessibility to employees in the field. The existing LMS was significantly under-utilized. Learning & Development authoring tools, reporting functionality, and determination of training ROI was non- existent.
Solutions
- Conducted a training needs analysis to identify current processes, gaps, and resource deficiencies
- Developed strategic goals and objectives for training
- Developed a business requirements document to maximize the use of learning management system
- Developed new processes and communications protocols to create cadence of project tasks
- Established measurable KPIs to evaluate training performance and employee retention
- Developed a platform for SCORM compliance in accordance with ATD and FAA government compliance and regulations
Results
- Implemented LMS and authored content to streamline ease of access and flexibility
- Eliminated use of external drop files
- Training is now accessible to all employees
- Developed reports with measurable data that includes training completion, time to complete, content retention, and training development ROI.
